Lebombo Rose Breaks through In style!
Apr 03, 2018
Consistent 4yo Mare Lebombo Rose won the Sportsbets Power Play BM58 Handicap 1200m at Ballarat in fine style making it 2 wins and 8 placings from 20 starts.
Shortly after beginning with Damien Thornton she was squeezed and tightened up forcing her to settle further back than anticipated, she soon picked up the bridle to be travelling about 6th in the run but having a wall of horses in front of her with no room to move she was shuffled back to second last turning for home.
Damien angled to the outside on straightening to try and get some room but was caught by surprise when Mary's Pride approached quickly causing him to check of heels and loose momentum, once he switched back to the inside and was able to build again the run appeared on the inside of Foudays of mylife and she pushed through to run away for an easy 1 length win.
The win comes off a good second at Sale first up where she really had little luck, lets hope with the way she has come back this preparation that she wont be far away from another win soon.
