New Freshman Seizes The Moment
Feb 05, 2018
Exciting three-year-old Proudest Moment has delivered on the high opinion the stable has always had of him with a thrashing of his rivals in the Ladbrokes Maiden (1105m) at Sale and recording a smart time in doing so.
At start number three the son of Sepoy sat just off early pacemaker Midnight Liaison before exploding away at the 200m mark to win eased-down by four lengths.
The horse has always shown plenty of ability at home prompting us to roll the dice by sending him to Flemington to compete in the 250k Inglis Dash 1100m,although finishing down the track behind Nature Strip he has taken great improvement from that outing and is now putting it all together.
Proudest Moment probably should have won on debut after finding trouble at Stony Creek but his run was full of merit to just going down when he ran out of ground,he then ran at Headquarters where he was more than competitive to the 400m mark before getting a bit lost down the straight.
Heading to Sale our confidence was sky high back in grade and he did everything right to run away with a very impressive victory and jockey Brian Higgins predicted he would more than likely graduate to a Saturday Metropolitan standard on that effort.
We will now give him a chance to bounce back from his win and make a decision in the next few days on whether he will continue his racing this preparation or go out for a spell.
