FILLY STREETS THEM ON DEBUT
Jun 07, 2017
Two-year-old filly Elle Street did plenty wrong but was still far too good for her rivals on debut in the CrownBet Fillies Maiden (1100m) at Wangaratta.
The daughter of Street Boss was slowly away before settling midfield. Dean Holland eased her to the outside approaching the turn and at the 200 metres mark she took over and looked set for an easy win.
However, the filly had other ideas and made a bee-line for the outside fence once she was struck by the whip. When Dean changed the whip in the Left hand she ran inwards abruptly But in doing so she was able to maintain her momentum, once straightened up she come away again near the line for a comfortable one-length win.
The filly is owned by long-time stable supporters Rob Walker and Ike Hollingworth and looks to be a filly that will continue to improve with racing.
Her win sets up an exciting week for the stable with veteran galloper Royal Island heading to the Golden Topaz at Swan Hill and stable star Hard Call resuming from a freshen up over 1400m at Flemington.
