At Your Command breaks his Maiden Status as a Metro winner!
Jun 14, 2016
Three-year-old gelding "At Your Command" gave the stable a nice surprise, with his narrow win in the Priority Printing Maiden Plate (1200m) at Mornington.
Second-up from a long spell, Stephen Baster gave "At Your Command" a perfect ride. He hit the front on the point of the home turn and although still showing signs of greenness he toughed it out to the reverse the form line on t "Artie Fred" to beat him by a head at the juicy odds of $41.
"At Your Command" had resumed at Werribee a fortnight earlier with a handy
fifth after travelling up close to the front and kicking into the straight to head the field he got a bit lost and wasn't quite sure how to put them away.
While the stable has always rated his ability, the son of Street
Boss wasn't expected to be greeting the judge until later in his
preparation once he got over a longer journey and having had that little more experience.
"At Your Command" is out of former good Race mare Make A Stand, which makes him a half brother to recent Caulfield winner Hard Call.
His win also continues a great month for long-time stable supporters Hirsch Racing who have cheered home city winners Nat's The Boss and
Hard Call for our stable.
