The impressive maiden win of Hard Call?

The John Salinitri-prepared Hard Call finished second on debut and started an odds-on favourite in the second race at Ararat on Friday.

He was backed like a good thing ($2.40 into $1.80) and so it proved, sitting second before powering away to win by three-and-a-quarter lengths.
