GRAND MARE SALUTES AGAIN

Jul 01, 2015

Rising six-year-old To Be Honest has proved that mares in form are always hardest to beat, with an off-the-canvass win in the BM84 Fillies and Mares Handicap at Ballarat (1600m).

After being sent out favorite, courtesy of a dominant win at the same
track a fortnight ago, To Be Honest was under severe pressure from
apprentice Michael Dee on the point of the home turn. But the young man
didn't give up and the daughter of Bel Esprit launched herself late to go
on and record a 3/4 length win from Blendwell and Stylish Miss.

Despite her age, To Be Honest has flown the flag superbly for the stable in
her four runs back from a spell. She's now won 9 from 40 for prize money of
more than $170,000 and looks certain to continue her pillaging of similar
races over the next few weeks.

Her next assignment will be on July 18th in 80 rated 1500m 85k at Rosehill Gardens and she should be very competitive even getting up in the weights!
