Home bred three-year-old Freeze The Moment broke his maiden status at start number six with a narrow win in the Winning Edge Presentations Maiden (1400m) at Mildura on Sunday.

Ridden by the ‘iceman’ Kelvin Sanderson, Freeze The Moment shot four lengths clear in the straight and staved off the late charge of Brookton Storm.

Sanderson didn’t panic over the concluding stages, avoiding the whip and guiding the odds-on favourite home under hands and heels riding.

Freeze The Moment, who is out of John and Frank’s wonderful producer Miss Lardydar, continued the stable’s amazing strike rate at Mildura.

Over the past 12 months or so the stable has saddled up 19 runners at Mildura for nine winners and four placings.
